So maybe Jehovah saves only 7 witnesses world-wide and start over, and chunk the rest. Jah did it before, He can do it again.

Yet another example why you can't reason with a JW
by nowwhat? inso i mentioned to my pimi brother that the org.
only grew by 1.4 % 2 years in row and if you factor in the birthrate of 1.1 % that's only 3/10 of 1% growth for all that hard work.
i thought people would be streaming to the mountain of jehovah in the last days?

she is tempted to answer but doesn't .

Wasn't the original video that was presented at the convention portraying the same girl calling at night. But now the video shows her calling during the day?

Witnesses feel like they are the chosen ones.....That's hard for someone on the outside to comprehend.
Yes it is. Actually it's kind of amazing. I try to explain it to my girlfriend and her family and no matter how hard I try, they just tell me they don't get it. Or they say; "What the Big Deal" Very few people in general ever think to themselves as "THE CHOSEN ONES"

Xanthippe Has your uncle been to the Vatican?
No!
My uncle really doesn’t even think of religion. It’s only because his brother is bringing it up. The reason my uncle doesn't think much of the WT scandals is because he believes the sex abuse is a human species problem- or maybe not a problem but just human nature, and not necessarily a religion problem, at least for some people. He pointed out something kind of interesting to me when I was younger and was abused by older women. To be honest I really don’t call it abuse and most kids my age don’t either.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h7SpXGz-XOc
He told me to look at all the young women teachers who have lately been getting caught having sex with 13 year old students. There are actually tons of them the past couple of years. He told me to look at their lives. Most of them worked hard to get a degree in teaching. They spent several years going to school and have had to cough up the money to pay for the school. Just about all of them were happily married and had kids of their own. They had parents and siblings and friends who would be affected if she ever got caught having sex with a child. They also were very aware that if they got caught, more than likely they would have to spend some time in prison, probably years, and afterward register as a sex offender for life. All those years going to school to be a teacher, all the hard work, all the money spent, would go down the drain. Her only options for the rest of her life would be menial jobs which would translate into a life of poverty. Plus what man would want to marry a women who went to prison for child sex abuse.
So what happened?
Evidently for some persons those sex hormones escalate to such a high degree that they override the current norms of human behavior. The human desire to procreate with young healthy humans overrides any sense of self preservation. Age and law just entered the picture a few years ago according to history and that’s what is making all the scandals----into scandals.
It also happens in all fields not just religion. For example Harvey Weinstein and Bill Cosby just to name a few people in the film industry. Bill Cosby was the “Jell-O” man who loved pudding. (Who would have thought!) Politicians – where do I start, from members in congress to judges all the way to the President!
So I’ve notice that a lot of people, who’ve never been JWs or religious for that matter, never give it a second thought when news about Watchtower sex scandals comes out in the news.
So to my uncle, it's a scandal, but not really!

My uncle was surprised that his older brother who many times warned his younger brother that Armageddon was close and if he didn’t act, would be destroyed for not choosing Jehovah. Now my dad was eating crow.
Both dad and mom told my uncle all the stories on the news regarding the sexual child abuse cover-ups in Australia and the lawsuits in the U.S.A. Both dad and mom got real emotional as they told story after story to my uncle. My mom even started crying.
I was laying on the floor watching the whole thing and I could tell that my uncle couldn’t understand why my parents were all disturbed. So he asked them why they were so upset about the whole thing.
My parents went on to explain that all their close friends refuse to see what’s happening and refuse to see that the Governing Body is not who they claim to be and that when the Watchtower comes crashing down with all the lawsuits, probably many of the friends will commit suicide.
My uncle looked at me and kind of smiled. He then went on to tell my parents that nothing like that is going to happened. He told them that it’s just religion and it’s always been like that with organized religion from the very beginning when Christianity started to form in Rome and probably before that. He explained to them that the Watchtower is just another religion with the same problems other religions have always faced—sexual abuse of children. Religion a pedophile paradise.
He told them, “Let me give you an example. So my uncle googled news on his phone for about 5 minutes and found this;
Then he told my parents to read the story and my parents read it. After reading it my parents starting saying how disgusting it was and blah, blah, blah.
My uncle told them these stories happen all the time. And then he asked them; "you know what happens?"
Nothing!!
You still have 1.2 Billion Catholics who will continue with the religion. And the Catholic Church will pay the fines-and life will go on.
The same with the Watchtower. They got caught, they will fight tooth and nail to escape punishment, and when they lose, they will pay the fines and continue to take monies from the faithful to pay those fines. And life will continue just like it has for thousands of years.
All these lawsuits the Watchtower has to fight-is just a hiccup. In time the members will just deal with the regularity of the lawsuits just like the Catholic Church and life will go on for the faithful.
I kind of feel bad for my parents; they are having a hard time dealing with the whole thing. They still think Jehovah is going to execute the Watchtower because it has gone apostate.
I’m not getting involved either, they need to work it out on their own. I know it’s just going to take some time. But my uncle is doing a good job of explaining things to them and giving them a lot of reading material that will help them see how all religion, (including the Watchtower) is just a big racket to pull monies from the members. Some of the books he recommended include Bart Ehrman. So I think eventually my parents will be OK.

Are the G.B.members really good business people ?
by smiddy3 inif i was an author of a book i think i would be over the moon if i was guaranteed a sale of around 5 million or more books for my work.. the jehovah`s witnesses have over 8 million members plus relatives that are fringe dwellers who come to the memorial once a year ,.
so what a gold mine they have been sitting on as a publishing house .. why didn`t they keep publishing books for the faithful ,they could have even upped the price , and the faithful would have paid especially in prosperous country`s in the west.. they could have milked this venture for years to come as the faithful would have bought anything they would have published .. and their prophets (profits) would have soared ,literally and figuratively for many more years to come ..

The Governing Body just inherited a corporation with money and lots of assets, but it does not make them good business people.
Heck, I'm just a kid and I inherited a nice nest egg, but it doesn't mean I'm a smart business person. I'm going to school to try to learn how to keep my inheritance and it's hard work learning the pitfalls and understanding how to invest and not lose what you have.
The G/B are men that never went to business school and learn economic principles. They have no idea what drives demand and how it's affected by supply. It's possible some were even home-schooled just so they could pioneer.
They can't even understand basic concepts like what a generation is. They believe that this period is the worse in all history contrary to the evidence. They believe and teach blood fractions is NOT BLOOD.
More than likely other groups of people are running the corporation like lawyers and educated financial people. But child abuse lawsuits is an unexpected blow that they never imagined would happen, yet they must deal with it. It's new territory for them since the previous governing bodies never had to deal with this problem.
The only way they know how to deal with this is by lying to their customers -Jws- that the child abuse lawsuits are all lies, and BEGGING for money. That's about as much business acumen that they can muster, BEG AND LIE.
Their product (the last days) is becoming obsolete very quickly. The faithful old customers are dying off and the new customers (7 year old baptized child) will only hang around until the critical reasoning skills kick in. (like me)
Good business people- NO.
Idiots who inherited a Corporation with assets - YES.

Jehovah’s witnesses and having kids
by Addison0998 inin my area, a lot of young people don’t want to have kids.
they get married young from 18-22 years old, and think that they know how they’re going to feel the rest of their lives about having children, (which they think will be never).
i respect people who don’t want to have kids, there are good reasons not to, but i think it’s foolish at a young age to think you will never think differently for the rest of your life.

If my family weren’t all witnesses, I would feel like the luckiest person alive. We take road trips all together, have family dinners and bonfires, and have a great time together
I hear you, my girlfriend's family is like that. They were never JWs, so basically normal people. They do all kinds of things together and the good thing about it - is that they've made me part of the family.
Everyone should pursue what makes them happy, that's what life is all about.

I have no problem with people wanting kids, it's their life, their choice.
But for me and all my friends including my girlfriend who was never a JW, we don't want kids. For what, kids are selfish. You spend 25 years raising them up and they leave to have their own life and families and will visit you once in a while and most of the time just to ask for money. I've seen adult children in their 40s and 50s asking their parents for money because of some stupid mistake they made, and poor parents they always give in,
And I say this with authority because I am still a kid just starting my twenties and I am selfish with my time and my life. But I never ask my parents for anything anymore. Instead I help them out from time to time.
My girlfriend and I want to enjoy the only life we feel we will get and we don't want to spend some 40 years taking care of kids. Or worse, what if the child is born with some of the hundreds of medical conditions that happen every year, that will need constant care for the rest of their lives? I've seen this and it's not pretty.

I am making money with three businesses that I started about three years ago as a teen, I am already saving for retirement if I'm I am fortunate enough to live long, and I'm going to college part time getting a double major in business and science, and my girl friend is doing the same thing. I already have over 200k in a bank account, thanks to grandpa and grandma on my dad's side of the family who left me nice nest egg when they died. I bought a nice small house, cash, that needed some work and bought a nice used truck, -both cash using my business income and not my nest egg. So I'm in my beginning 20s and have no rent, only property taxes, no car payment, so all my cash goes into the bank until I learn how to invest. which is why I am going to school.
Am I afraid I am going to die alone? Of course not, everyone dies alone, unless both husband and wife die together in an accident. Do I need someone to hold my hand when I die? Of course not. I'm trying to enjoy my life as much as possible so I have no regrets and I can die with a smile.
I'm not afraid of dying and I don't get lonely. Also the truth is that there are lots of people who are waiting to be friend-ed. You keep the good one and discard the bad ones.
Most people my age don't want kids. We've seen how most children put a strain on their parents till death. In fact, by the time the kids are ready to leave, most parents can't wait till they get out of the house. But worse is when kids NEVER LEAVE HOME.

The jws of my generation (20s) don't read their books. Never have, never will. They know that, thus the reason why they stopped printing tons of publications. They are aware our generation is the beginning of their end, even if we get baptized at 10 years of age, we will still leave when we turn 15 - 18. Only a few are printed for the Overlapping Generation, to keep them content and make sure that their WILLS stay in the WT's name when they die.l
They don't have a gold-mine anymore, that goose died when they introduced the Overlapping generation.
